SCRIP

Scrip is a term that means “substitute money.” When you purchase scrip from CLS, you’re purchasing gift certificates and gift cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday items like food, clothing, and other essentials. CLS buys the scrip at a discount from a national SCRIP vendor and from participating local retailers. We then resell the certificates at full face value. Scrip is available from major national retailers like Wal-Mart, JC Penney, Sears, Lowe’s, Menards, etc., including popular national restaurant chains. We also sell Scrip from local businesses, such as Atkins Lumber, White Lights and Ced-Rel. The discount – anywhere from two to fifteen percent or more – is the school’s portion of the funds. The school receives payment when the scrip is purchased, not when it is used in the store. Scrip is a popular fundraiser because families don’t have to sell anything. You are making purchases you would ordinarily make, but you simply use a gift card to make the purchase instead of using cash at the store or writing a check. SCRIP is also a great way to do your Christmas shopping or to purchase birthday gifts or anniversary gifts. We also sell SCRIP gift certificates in any denomination so the recipient can choose which gift card he/she would like. Order forms are available by clicking the link above. Orders are placed Tuesday mornings by 9:00 a.m. and are available for pick-up by Thursday or Friday afternoon of the same week. If you are unable to pick up your order at school, you may request to pick it up at St. Stephen’s (Atkins) or St. John (Newhall) or at St. John (Keystone) churches. You may also purchase SCRIP out of inventory at the school office, meaning whatever SCRIP is on hand in the office. Any size order is accepted.
