Hi, I’m Michelle Hines!

Hello, I am Michelle Hines, third grade teacher at Central.  I am originally from Garnavillo, Iowa, but moved around in high school while my father attended seminary.  I graduated from Concordia University – River Forest (now Chicago) in 2006.  This is my fourth year teaching third grade at Central.  Before coming to Central I taught junior high mathematics for twelve years at St. John’s Lutheran School in Red Bud, Illinois.  I am blessed to be at Central, and love the family atmosphere here.

I am married to Allan and we have two children, Hunter (freshman at Benton) and Hilda (7th grader at Central).  We loved living near St. Louis but are happy to be closer to my side of the family here in Iowa.  In my free time I enjoy reading, playing board games, watching movies, St. Louis Blues Hockey, the Iowa State Cyclones, and the St. Louis Cardinals.  We are members at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins, where I am on the youth board.

My favorite Bible verse is Romans 13:10, “Love does no wrong to a neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”
